eMatrix is a skin resurfacing treatment which offers improvements in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of facial aging.
This treatment is also called Sublative Rejuvenation and employs radio frequency technology to deliver pulsed energy to the targeted treatment sites.
It is suitable for mitigating scarring, pores, wrinkles, and skin texture. This procedure enhances scarring from acne in a more effective manner than any laser procedure available today.
Dr. Q Medical Spa, led by successful board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt, provides skin rejuvenation treatments to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding communities in this area of the state.
Generating Fresh Collagen Fibers
eMatrix is an FDA-cleared treatment which uses RF to deliver energy into the deep skin layers. It uses the body’s own collagen to remodel and restructure the treatment site. Other fractional systems use laser light to heat or eliminate tiny skin fragments in a process known as ablation.
However, eMatrix uses RF energy to heat and ablate beneath the surface of the skin to produce fresh collagen and reveal brighter, smoother, and more youthful looking skin. When the skin volume enhances from within, it leads to a reduction in the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles.
How does the eMatrix System Work?
The eMatrix med spa treatment system employs RF energy to treat targeted skin areas through creating a grid of minute spots. The skin surrounding the targeted area acts as a healing reservoir which regenerates and restores new collagen while enhancing the healing process to minimize downtime.
The RF energy produces heat that creates a collagen response at selected levels and at selected coverage concentrations in the skin. Tiny crusts develop in 24 to 72 hours in the treatment sites. These crusts will fall off in a natural manner with time, and the patient should refrain from rubbing or picking these areas.
After the treatment, patients will experience a reduction in mild to moderate wrinkles and discolorations on the skin’s surface. eMatrix also offers the skin a tauter, firmer, and smoother appearance.
According to the Journal of Drugs & Dermatology, a majority of patients show improvements in facial parameters such as skin smoothness/wrinkle reduction (90 percent) and skin brightness (83 percent) after this procedure.
eMatrix can be used on various areas of the body in addition to the face, which is in contrast to other fractional ablative systems that are limited only to the face.
Is there Downtime?
If the patient undergoes moderate levels of treatment, they can expect two to three days of redness and inflammation. They may also experience up to seven days of light scabbing/bronzing which remains from the fractionated tip. This is entirely normal and expected. This is not a lunchtime procedure at effective energy levels, and the patient may need to take leave from work for a few days.
Do you require more than One Treatment?
A majority of patients choose to undergo three to four treatment sessions. The time taken for each session is approximately 30 minutes. The impact of the outcomes is cumulative and enhances over time as collagen processes work underneath the skin’s surface.
The treatment does not remove full surface skin which enables the healing to be faster as well as poses minimal risks. Dr. Q Medical Spa receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and other suburbs and towns in this part of California for skin rejuvenation.
