Defining Enlarged Pore Treatment

Defining Enlarged Pore TreatmenteMatrix is an advanced fractional skin resurfacing system that can mitigate the appearance of enlarged pores on the skin. The eMatrix device delivers sublative rejuvenation which can substantially reduce the appearance of aging signs as well as enlarged pores.

This med spa treatment can be safely administered on darker skin as well. eMatrix can treat various skin conditions such as wrinkles, acne scars, superficial lesions on the skin, brown spots as well as some stretch marks along with improving the appearance of enlarged pores.

Dr. Q Medical Spa, led by the kind board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt, provides skin rejuvenation treatments to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding locations.

Bi-Polar RF Energy

eMatrix makes use of fractionated bi-polar RF energy, which makes it a unique cosmetic skin treatment. This energy allows the uppermost skin layer to remain intact delivering most of the heat beneath the epidermis.

The process maximizes the generation of collagen. The healthy skin surrounding the fractionated area where the energy is delivered expedites the healing process reducing the appearance of enlarged pores and other skin aberrations.

Treatment Plan

Patients should undergo at least three med spa treatment sessions to experience desirable outcomes. In such cases, the patient will usually require only one “maintenance” RF treatment session after the initial treatment procedure.

The patient may need more than three treatment sessions initially depending on the condition of their skin (the extent of enlarged pores and other imperfections in the facial skin).

The eMatrix RF treatment is relatively painless. Most patients experience a warm, tingling sensation as the energy goes through the uppermost skin layer.

After a treatment session, patients usually experience a mild sunburn and redness in the treated sites. This side effect subsides within some days. The patient may apply a topical anesthetic ointment to address any unpleasant, warm sensations that they may experience following eMatrix.

The Technology Behind eMatrix

The treatment provider will use an ergonomic applicator to deliver RF energy via an electrode matrix. This energy will heat the skin layers to a level that will elicit a healing reaction from the skin. The skin senses the damage to the epidermis sustained through intense dermal heating.

The untreated tissue which is not affected by the RF energy expedites the healing process by increasing the generation of elastin and collagen. Consequently, the skin heals rapidly offering the patient a brighter, dazzling, and more youthful appearance.

Sublative Rejuvenation is different in comparison to other types of non-invasive skin procedures such as Thermage and Fraxel as the energy wavelengths delivered by the applicators do not impact certain skin layers leading to enhanced collagen generation at the source.

Furthermore, Sublative Rejuvenation is believed to be an intelligent technology as it enables treatment providers to garner feedback on the impact of RF energy on the treated sites by viewing the treatment in real-time on a screen.

Downtime and Recovery

Although eMatrix is a gentle procedure, patients can still anticipate some mild side-effects in the days after the treatment. There may be some inflammation.

However, the patient can manage any side-effects that they may experience with prescription ointments and medicines. Dr. Q Medical Spa receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and other towns and cities in this area of The Golden State for skin rejuvenation.
