How much does dermabrasion cost?

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is a highly effective non-surgical aesthetic procedure to restore smooth, rejuvenated, and glowing skin. Compared to traditional cosmetic surgery procedures, the cost of dermabrasion could be more affordable. Your provider will discuss various facets of the procedure, including its estimated costs during the pre-operative consultation.

You should compare the costs of this treatment with other skin rejuvenation options before making an informed decision. A responsible surgeon will provide you the best advice according to your unique skin care needs and your personal cosmetic goals.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides dermabrasion treatment to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Beverly Hills, CA, and surrounding locations.

Factors Impacting the Monetary Amount

The cost of dermabrasion at a particular surgical practice will depend on several factors. One of the important factors is the location of the practice. The cost could be relatively higher in major metropolitan areas as compared to small or remote locations.

That is because the real estate costs, living expenses, and local taxation may be higher in prime urban centers, which will reflect in the cost of any product or service, including a cosmetic procedure such as dermabrasion.

Skills and experience of the dermabrasion expert who performs the procedure and the extent of treatment you need will also make a difference to your complete costs. When your procedure is performed under the supervision of a board certified plastic surgeon, you can expect safer and more advanced dermabrasion treatments as compared to a non-medical salon.

In particular, if you have a complex skin condition or a unique skin type, you should undergo this procedure in a medical setting. Dermabrasion is a major procedure, and may sometimes involve general anesthesia. In that case, the procedure may have to be performed at a surgery center. The costs of anesthesia and surgery center charges will get added to the total sticker price in this situation.

Combined Treatment

Depending on your skin care needs, you may want to combine your dermabrasion procedure with another plastic surgery or non-invasive aesthetic treatment. The overall price tag will increase in this case, but your treatment provider may be able to offer you a rebate or a special package rate for the combined procedure.

Insurance

Feel free to discuss all your options and the related costs during your pre-op consultation. Remember that dermabrasion is typically considered an elective cosmetic procedure, so you will have to pay the costs out-of-pocket. Your insurer is not likely to cover the dollar amount for this treatment. Therefore, plan your budget well and choose the best option in consultation with your surgeon.

Financing

If you are reluctant to pay the entire cost of your dermbrasion procedure upfront from your own pocket or you feel it will disrupt your monthly budget, you can get your procedure financed. You may consider traditional financing options such as bank loans, credit card extended payments and personal borrowings, or seek a loan from a medical care lending firm.

Dermabrasion vs. Microdermabrasion

Dermabrasion Procedures

Dermabrasion is a procedure that involves injuring the skin in a controlled way by using an abrasive. This causes a noticeable change in the skin appearance and works well with aging or scarred skin. Dermabrasion is mostly performed on facial skin, but it may be used on other parts of the body, too. Cosmetic surgeons or trained and qualified professionals carry out this procedure.

Microdermabrasion is also a skin rejuvenation technique that makes use of abrasion with vacuum suction to remove only the most superficial layer of skin. Unlike dermabrasion, anesthetics are not required before this process because it does not penetrate to the deeper skin layers. It is a painless and non-invasive procedure.

Besides dermabrasion and microdermabrasion, other techniques such as skin peels, laser surgery and filler injections may also be used to rejuvenate the skin. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides advanced skin care procedures to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Beverly Hills, CA, and surrounding communities.

Candidacy for Dermabrasion or Microdermabrasion

Dermabrasion works on the deeper skin layers and creates a wound. When the wound heals, the new skin is of a better quality than the original skin. This technique works well for wrinkles, scars from trauma and acne, tattoos, enlarged and red nose (rhinophyma) and actinic keratoses (initial phase of skin cancer).

Microdermabrasion works on only the topmost layer of skin called the stratum corneum. This layer comprises dead cells and the procedure is safe for most people because the deeper skin layers are not touched. Persons with acne or other active skin disease must not undergo microdermabrasion.

What happens during the procedure?

Dermabrasion requires local anesthesia before the start of the procedure. Sometimes a sedative may also be administered intravenously. After the skin is numb, the surgeon applies an abrasive device to the skin. The device is made of a rotating wire brush or a wheel encrusted with diamonds or an abrasive screen.

The surgeon decides which device to use based on the area of skin to be treated. They may also spray a refrigerant to prevent the skin from moving during the procedure. Dermabrasion results largely depend on the experience and skill of the surgeon.

In microdermabrasion, the surgeon sprays a crystalline, inert material onto the skin. The procedure may also involve forceful rubbing of a wand impregnated with crystals to exfoliate the superficial skin layer without affecting the deeper skin layers. There may be mild inflammation, but the swelling is temporary.

Recovery Process

Dermabrasion produces a wound that requires daily moist dressings. You will be taught to keep the wound clean and dress it yourself. Healing generally takes 10 days and the redness of skin reduces after about six weeks. Microdermabrasion is a superficial technique and does not cause any wound. You may experience mild redness and swelling but these are temporary and there are no other post-operative issues.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Beverly Hills, CA, and nearby areas for safe and proven dermabrasion and microdermabrasion procedures.

What is dermabrasion?

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is a technique used to remove the outer skin layers of the face. It is a popular treatment method to get rid of acne scars, fine lines, sun damaged skin, and uneven skin texture. Dermabrasion involves the use of a rotating instrument on the face. A local anesthetic is used to numb the skin before the procedure to minimize discomfort. It is done on an outpatient basis and you can go home soon after the procedure.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides dermabrasion to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Beverly Hills, CA, and surrounding locations.

Dermabrasion Procedure

Dermabrasion typically requires local anesthetic. But for more extensive treatment, the surgeon may choose to give you a sedative or use general anesthesia. Once the anesthetic takes hold, an assistant stretches your skin and holds it taut. The expert then moves the dermabrader device across the stretched skin. This device has a rough surface which rotates with the help of a motor.

Small-tipped dermabraders are used on narrow spaces such as the mouth corners. On larger skin patches, surgeons prefer to use a circular dermabrader. Multiple sessions may be necessary to treat larger areas.

Following the procedure, the surgeon uses a moist dressing to cover the treated area. The dressing will be changed the following day and you will be taught to change the dressings on your own after that.

What to expect after dermabrasion?

Your surgeon will give instructions on how to dress the treated area, and guide you about the products to use. The treated skin will stay pink and swollen for a few weeks, and you may experience a tingling or burning sensation, too. It takes three months for the pink color to fade, and this indicates a complete healing of the skin.

What the benefits of dermabrasion?

Dermabrasion works on the principle of exfoliation which is removal of the outer damaged skin layers. Removal of the older, outer skin reveals the newer skin layers lying below, and gives your skin a smoother and younger look. Dermabrasion is used to treat several conditions of the face such as:

  • Age spots
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Wrinkled skin
  • Acne scars
  • Injury or surgery induced scars
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Pre-malignant skin patches
  • Rhinophyma or thick, red skin on the nose

Several other techniques are also available to treat these conditions. Your cosmetic surgeon can guide you about which one will be the best fit for your particular condition

Who is not a candidate for dermabrasion?

Dermabrasion is not recommended for persons who suffer from skin conditions such as:

  • Burn scars
  • Inflammatory acne
  • Repeated flare-ups of herpes
  • Radiation burns
  • Naturally very dark skin tone

Persons on medications that cause thinning of skin as a side effect are also not suitable for dermabrasion. If you want to get rid of tattoos, dermabrasion may work, but laser treatment is a faster and more effective procedure.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Beverly Hills, CA, and nearby areas for dermabrasion.

Mole / Skin Tag Removal

Mole | Skin Tag Treatment Options

Unsightly or abnormal moles and skin tags can usually be excised in a relatively minor outpatient procedure. Mole and skin tag removal will only require a local anesthetic, and no sedation may be necessary. Leaving these skin aberrations untreated may not only cause cosmetic concerns for you, but in some cases, it also increases your risk of skin cancer if the mole or tag becomes malignant.

You should choose an experienced plastic surgeon that can identify both normal or non-malignant moles as well as abnormal or pre-cancerous moles, and remove them skillfully. Your surgeon will perform the mole and skin tag removal procedure with precision in order to minimize the risk of conspicuous scarring subsequently.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides mole and skin tag removal cosmetic plastic surgery to patients in Woodland Hills, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, and surrounding communities.

Types of Moles and When to Remove them?

Moles can be categorized into the following types:

Skin tags: These are tiny growths that usually have narrow and small stalks. Skin tags are typically skin-colored, but in some cases, the color may be darker than the surrounding skin. Tags are mostly painless.

Flat moles: Any type of skin irregularity or a dark spot in your skin may be considered as a flat mole.

Raised moles: these are skin growths that can be felt on the surface and may run deep into the dermal layers. Raised moles may occur in different colors compared to your skin color.

Moles are usually benign or non-cancerous, but there is always a risk that a mole could be malignant or may turn cancerous later on. You should consult with your cosmetic plastic surgeon for advice if you have a mole that itches, bleeds or causes pain, or undergoes a sudden change in its color, shape, or size.

Removal Procedure for Moles and Skin Tags

The surgical procedure for mole removal is fairly simple and will be followed by a minor recovery. Depending on how deep the mole may be, your surgeon may perform an excisional surgery, which will require sutures to close the wound. But superficial moles can be shaved, and no sutures will be necessary.

After the mole has been shaved, a natural scab formation will occur in the treated site. The scab will come off in about one week on its own. The underlying skin may be reddish or pink in color, which will gradually blend in with the natural skin color.

Whether the mole is removed through excision surgery or shaving, you should protect the area from sun exposure for several days and keep it completely clean until the wound has fully healed.

Avoid Shaving the Mole Yourself

Some people make the mistake of attempting to remove the mole or skin tag on their body by shaving it off. Only a trained medical professional can determine whether the mole extends below the skin surface, and can remove it using the appropriate technique.

If you do it yourself, you may increase your risk of bleeding or infection. Plastic surgeon Dr. Q receives patients from Woodland Hills, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, and nearby areas for moles and skin tag removal.

What is a weak chin / jaw line and what can you do about it?

Weak Chin | Jaw Line Augmentation

A substantive and long-lasting solution for your weak chin and jaw line is chin implant cosmetic surgery. In this procedure, your facial planes are augmented with the surgical insertion of biocompatible silicone implants. Clinically known as mentoplasty, this procedure is often performed in conjuction with nose surgery to create more harmonious results.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides chin and jaw line enhancement cosmetic plastic surgery to patients in Palm Springs; Los Angeles, California, and surrounding locations.

What is a Receding Chin and Weak Jaw?

A man or woman may suffer from a weak jaw appearance when the chin is small or recessive, and slopes backward. In women, it may make the nose look disproportionately larger, while in men it may undermine the masculine facial appearance.

In many cases, a double chin appearance is more than just excess fat deposits in the submental region. The effect may occur because of a short and narrow chin, poor definition between the chin and neck, and a less defined jaw line.

Benefits of Chin Implants

When the receding chin and a weak jaw line is corrected with chin implant plastic surgery, it can provide the following benefits:

The jaw line is more defined

An elegant and slender jaw line can get obscured because of a receding chin, leading to a rounder looking face. A stronger chin can be sculpted with the help of implants to refine the transition between the jaw and neck.

More balanced facial profile

If the chin is receding or too small, your side facial profile could appear unbalanced. The other facial features may appear more dominating compared to the chin. With chin augmentation plastic surgery, it is possible to restore facial balance and create attractive proportions.

Making the nose look smaller

If you have a recessive chin, your nose may appear disproportionately large and prominent. Although chin augmentation will not directly change the nose size or shape, it will have a relative effect. When your chin becomes more robust and substantive, the nose will naturally blend in more fittingly with the rest of the facial features.

Customized Surgical Procedure

If your receding chin is the sole cause behind your weak jaw appearance, your cosmetic surgeon may only recommend a chin augmentation surgery. They will create a small incision under your chin to form a surgical pocket, where a silicone implant will be inserted. The size and shape of the implant will be customized to produce a more balanced and defined jaw.

In some cases, the double chin appearance (submental fullness) may be adding to the effect of a weak jaw. In this case, a minor neck liposuction surgery may have to be performed in conjunction with chin implants to refine the area further.

If you are suffering from skin laxity in the neck or face area, you may want to combine chin implants with a neck lift or facelift cosmetic plastic surgery. Plastic surgeon Dr. Q receives patients from Palm Springs, Los Angeles, California, and nearby areas for chin augmentation surgery.

The PRPcocktail Lifts, Tightens, Thickens Skin, And Reduces Wrinkles

PRPcocktail

The PRPcocktail is a unique non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to reverse the signs of aging in your face, neck, and hands. If you are bothered by the appearance of sagging skin, volume loss and wrinkles in your facial and neck areas or have ‘crepey’ skin in your hands, you can benefit from PRPcocktail therapy.

This treatment will provide a subtle lift to your facial and neck skin, volumize the thinning areas, and restore a firm and youthful tone to your face, neck and hands. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides PRPcocktail treatment to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding locations.

Restore a Youthful Appearance

Aging effects can cause your skin in the face and neck to become loose. The loss of natural collagen will create a thin, sunken look and the wrinkles and lines will appear more conspicuous. PRPcocktail is a specialized treatment that will correct these undesirable aging signs without plastic surgery. Prior to this treatment, there were limits to the degree of skin tightening that could be achieved without surgery.

Now with the introduction of the cutting-edge PRPcocktail therapy, the possibilities have dramatically increased. The unique formula of this therapy is aimed at volumizing and thickening ‘crepey’ skin and restore healthier, firmer skin in your face, neck and hands.

PRPcocktail with Collagen Treatments

The PRPcocktail makes use of the PRP (platelet rich plasma), which is present in your own blood. The PRP growth factors are extracted through a special centrifugal process and are delivered to the targeted areas of your face, neck and hands. The treatment becomes far more powerful when it is combined with FDA approved dermal filler injectables.

The injection process triggers the formation of new collagen fibers in the deeper skin layers. As a result, your skin volume and thickness continues to improve from within over several weeks and months. The final outcomes are sustainable and natural looking. You can expect the results to sustain for about two years with PRPcocktail treatment.

Risk, discomfort and downtime are minimal because the procedure is completely non-surgical. The PRP is a by-product of your own blood, so you do not have a risk of allergy. Even the dermal filler injections are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a biocompatible substance found naturally in your skin. Therefore, you do not require prior allergy tests for receiving PRPcocktail therapy.

Benefits for your Skin

PRPcocktail will help reduce the crow’s feet emanating from the far corners of your eyes, and eliminate dark circles under your lower eyelids. Fine lines around your mouth and certain types of acne scars can be smoothed with this therapy.

If your skin tone is uneven and the skin texture is dull and patchy, or your facial and neck skin has suffered from sun damage, you may consider PRPcocktail to improve these conditions.

Drooping or crepey skin in the neck, eyelids and décolletage areas can be corrected with this therapy. It can also restore volume to thinning lips, jaw line, cheeks and under-eye areas. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and nearby areas for PRPcocktail.

MICROTOX (Baby Botox) Skin Tightening And Lifting

MICROTOX (Baby Botox)

Botox and other similar neuromodulator injectables, such as Dysport, Xeomin, and NewTox, rank as the most popular non-surgical facial enhancement procedure in the US today. However, some women and men may require only very subtle improvements with tiny volumes of Botox for more natural looking effects.

This can be achieved with Microtox (popularly called Baby Botox) injection treatment. Dr. Q Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides Microtox to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding locations.

What is Microtox?

Some patients are concerned about over-dramatic, unnatural, or “frozen” look with the traditional Botox injections. Although a skillful provider will avoid these risks and will never over-inject, the task is now much easier with the introduction of Microtox treatment. If you want to delay the onset of signs of facial aging, or minor fine lines that you need to erase from the face, you may consider this “Baby Botox” treatment.

Microtox procedure involves special injection techniques to ensure you can achieve a subtle and more natural looking finish compared to a traditional Botox treatment.  The active ingredient in Microtox is also botulinum toxin type A (just like Botox), but the delivery of the injection is done using a “shrink-wrap” approach. It will reduce the wrinkles and fine lines from the face, while maintaining the natural facial contours.

The key is to work with a knowledgeable and experienced injection provider who understands the function and effectiveness of Microtox treatment.

Near-Instant Results with Microtox

Although at the core of it, Microtox is very similar to Botox, but the differences in the injection delivery approach and the unit volumes allow your provider to create differentiated results. Sometimes you may be in need to achieving very quick results, which is possible with Microtox. It will significantly cut down the time lag compared to Botox, and deliver near-instant results.

With Botox, it can often take up to a week before you can notice the full results of the treatment. But with Microtox, chances are that you will walk out of the med spa with a visible facial improvement. When Baby Botox is delivered directly underneath your skin, it will create a subtle reduction in fine lines and improve facial definition. The treatment will not target the underlying facial muscles, which can sometimes stiffen your face.

How does it work?

Microtox involves the use of ultra-thin (almost hair-like) micro needles to penetrate the affected areas of your skin. The needles are so tiny that you will virtually experience no pain, while the neurotoxin medication gets directly infused into the strategic facial sites.

While in case of Botox, the wrinkle-forming muscle gets relaxed to produce more conspicuous results, with Microtox the wrinkle reduction is relatively subtle. If you are seeking almost immediate outcomes and want to reduce the effects of fine lines and wrinkles in a subtle manner and without the risk of an unnaturally smooth look, you can choose Microtox.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and nearby areas for Microtox.

Breast Lift With Implants Before And After Photos

Breast Lift With Implants

Breast lift with augmentation is a transformative procedure designed to provide you an attractive, youthful looking bust. During your pre-op consultation, the cosmetic surgeon will inform the patient on all aspects of the procedure.

Your surgeon may choose to present breast lift with implants before and after pictures to patients during the initial consultation. This will help form reasonable expectations from the surgery. These pictures also help foster trust and transparency between you and the surgeon.

When you are clear about the estimated outcomes of your procedure, you can make a better decision about going ahead with it. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt (Dr. Q) provides breast augmentation with lift to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding communities.

The images are blanketed all over one of the pages on the website. This allows anyone with internet access to see the depth of the work Dr. Quardt has performed.

See Breast Lift With Implants Before And After Photos

Visual Evidence for New Patients

By presenting breast lift with implants before and after images to a new patient, a surgeon can help her feel more reassured about the surgery and its potential outcomes. You can get an idea of the extent to which the procedure can enhance your breast appearance when you see before and after pictures of past patients.

When you review the actual photographs of other patients, chances are that you will feel more confident about the surgery. It may help you understand that if breast lift with augmentation has been effective in enhancing the breast appearance of previous patients, it can potentially deliver similar outcomes to you as well.

Breast implants with lift before and after pictures help you gain a better understanding about the surgeon’s skills and what kind of results they may be able to create for you. This is the age of digital technology. Not having enough clarity to discern certain thoughts based on weak pictures is a thing of the past. Now with digital technology the clarity of images are amazing and any potential patient can easily imagine what this type of surgery will do for them.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Pictures can convey the real story much more effectively than words ever can. This also holds true for breast lift with implants before and after images. Irrespective of the pictures, your plastic surgeon will inform you about every aspect of the procedure to help you develop realistic expectations from the surgery. However, words can often be confusing, open to interpretation, or simply hard to trust.

On the other hand, before and after images create a compelling and strong visual effect. The barriers of language do not influence images, and they tell the real story as it is. However, the plastic surgeon must make sure that the photos have not undergone modifications or have not been photo-shopped because such images can be misleading for you.

The adage “A picture is worth more than a thousand words” definitely holds true in the case of breast implants with lift surgery before and after images. With digital imagery, a picture is worth about three thousand words. In fact, the images are so revealing you can pretty much predict the future on how this surgery will look on you.

Use of Social Media to Create Awareness

In today’s times, social media platforms hold universal appeal. Plastic surgeons can use the immense power of these social media platforms to display breast lift with implants before and after photos. This will help users acquire a detailed understanding of this advanced procedure.

Some popular photo sharing sites are Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube. Present breast augmentation with lift pictures on such online platforms can significantly enhance a surgeon’s efforts to connect with their audience. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and nearby areas for breast lift with augmentation surgery.

How much does a breast lift with implants cost?

Breast lift with implants cost | Palm Springs Plastic SurgeryBreast Lift with Implants

Breast lift with augmentation cosmetic surgery is generally considered an elective procedure, which means you will have to bear the costs out of your own pocket and may not get insurance coverage for it. For this reason, cost becomes a key starting point for many women who want to choose a comprehensive procedure to enhance their breast appearance.

A dedicated surgeon will make sure that you have accurate and transparent information available to you about the costs of breast augmentation with lift surgery. Their first concern will be to help you make a judicious choice after considering your budget and your personal aesthetic goals.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt provides breast lift with implants surgery to patients in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and surrounding locations.

Cost-Effectiveness of a Combined Surgery

At the outset, it is counter-intuitive to think that a combined breast augmentation and breast lift plastic surgery could be more cost-effective than a single procedure. But the fact is that compared to the cost of both surgeries performed individually at different times, a combined breast lift with implants surgery will be considerably more cost-competitive.

In a combined procedure, you will be required to pay for various cost components just one time. For instance, you will pay for the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia expenses, operating room costs, and other expenses related to medical tests, mammograms, prescription medications, compression garment, and other such items just one time.

A combined surgery also means that you will only go through post-operative downtime just once, which may also have favorable cost implications for working women. All these cost efficiencies are not possible when you undergo breast lift and breast implants surgeries separately.

Factors Affecting the Cost

The actual dollar amount of breast augmentation with lift plastic surgery can differ between two practices, and even between two patients at the same practice in some cases. Practice location is an important factor because the average livings costs and real estate costs differ between locations, which will have an indirect bearing on the surgical procedure costs.

The fee charged by the surgeon and the anesthesiologist could be based on their qualifications, experience and board certification, which makes it a variable cost component. Your surgery may be performed at a hospital, an accredited surgery center or a private surgical suite. Each option entails its own financial advantages and disadvantages.

Costs of your breast implants will differ according to the implant type, size, shape and texture. Silicone implants may cost slightly higher than traditional saline implants, while the cost of ultra cohesive gummy bear implants may be higher than the regular silicone implants.

Financing Options

It is best to work out your financing options for your breast implants with lift surgery well ahead of your planned surgery. You may consider traditional financing choices such as bank loans, credit card payments, or personal borrowings from friends and family.

Or, you can seek a loan from a professional medical care financing company that is offering competitive rates and quick loan approvals for elective procedures. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Suzanne Quardt receives patients from Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and nearby areas for breast lift with implants surgery.
