Laser liposuction: This FDA approved method employs laser fibers to heat the fat cells. The surgeon makes incisions in the treatment area. He injects a fluid where the incisions have been made, just as in the case of a traditional liposuction. He then inserts a laser fiber so as to loosen the excess fat cells. He removes the fat cells by means of a surgical vacuum or cannula.

Post procedure recovery

Once the surgery is completed, the patient may have to stay at the surgical facility for the next few hours or overnight. The treated area will be bandaged and you may have to wear a compression garment, to minimize any bruising or swelling. The incision might have drain pipes attached to them, to remove excess blood or fluid, which the doctor will soon remove. The surgically operated area is also likely to show some bruising/ swelling, which should reduce in the following weeks. It may take anywhere between a few weeks to a few months for you to completely recover. Chang of the Stanford University School of Medicine became the first scientific study to demonstrate that BBL therapy can restore gene expression pattern of aging skin to resemble younger looking skin.
