Rhinoplasty, also known as nose reshaping cosmetic surgery or nose job, can be undertaken using various surgical techniques.

Pre-Operative Consultation

The consultation process is an essential initial step in the rhinoplasty surgery process. At this time, the nose surgeon will address any questions or doubts that the patient may have about the surgery or the surgeon’s background.

The surgeon will also evaluate the nasal structure, facial anatomy, skin thickness and type in the nose region, and overall medical condition of the patient during this time.

Surgical Procedure

Anesthesia

An anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist will remain in the room throughout the surgery to oversee the patient’s reaction to the anesthetic.

Surgery

The degree of correction in the shape or size of the nose will determine whether the surgeon will use an open or closed rhinoplasty technique.

The surgeon will augment, eliminate, or modify tissue from the nose during the nose job. Some patients may require grafting or silicone implants. In comparison to closed rhinoplasty, open rhinoplasty is a more invasive procedure.

Wound Closure
