Vaginal Tightening

Vaginal tightening is a plastic surgery procedure designed to make the vaginal area tighter, firmer and more youthful. The surgeon will create a customized surgical plan based on the vaginal anatomy and personal aesthetic goals of the patient. This outpatient procedure may require general anesthesia. In some cases, the surgeon may use IV sedation along with a nerve block to numb the entire vagina and vulva.

The procedure can be completed in about one to two hours, depending on the extent of correction needed, and whether both anterior and posterior vaginal walls require tightening.

The procedure involves rebuilding of the lax vaginal structures to provide robust support and enable contraction of the vagina. The surgeon will tighten the support tissue and muscle groups around the vagina in order to narrow the vaginal canal. This will improve contraction of the vaginal muscle groups.

Labiaplasty

The labia may get enlarged over time due to aging effects, childbirth, injury or heredity factors. The surgeon may perform a labiaplasty for both cosmetic and functional improvements. The procedure may involve reduction of the size and reshaping of the labia minora or majora or both.

Following anesthesia, the surgeon will trim the excess labial tissue, but will retain adequate laxity in the stretchable tissue to create smaller but natural looking labia. The procedure can be performed using small incisions, which will be closed with dissolvable sutures after the labiaplasty.

Volumizing of the Labia Majora

If the labia majora appear loose or wrinkled because of poor skin elasticity and volume loss, it can cause cosmetic as well as functional concerns for a woman. In this case, the surgeon may use a fat transfer technique to inject the patient’s own living fat tissue from a surplus fat area to the labia majora. Dermal filler injections may also be used sometimes to create similar results in a minimally invasive way.

Monsplasty

The mons pubis area is hormonally sensitive and may change shape due to menopause or weight fluctuations. The surgeon may use the same techniques as in the case of labia majora volumizing to rejuvenate the mons pubis. With dermal filler injections or fat grafting, the surgeon can reshape and volumize the area.

In some cases, the reverse may be necessary if the mons pubis has acquired too much bulk. The surgeon may recommend liposuction or excision to remove excess fat and restore a youthful mons pubis appearance.
