Saline implants do not feel as natural as silicone filled implants, often feeling firmer and having a greater chance of “rippling”, but patients or physicians may chose these for a number of reasons including their perceived safety factor, the reduced cost, the ability to perform minor adjustments to compensate for asymmetry, for breast reconstruction and for patients who desire a highly firm feel by overfilling the implants, which may not be recommended by the manufacture and could void the warranty.
