Patient is a very thin, active and fit 40 year-old mother who presented complaining of her “pooching abdomen” that would not go away with diet or exercise. She was found to have an umbilical hernia as well as diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles) with diffuse, anterior abdominal wall laxity after giving birth to several children. She underwent Umbilical Hernia repair at the same setting as her Abdominoplasty to correct her protruding abdomen. Her rectus muscles required several plications (sewing together) to tighten and flatten her tummy again.
